Safe Environment Program Protocol Pro­tect­ing Our Chil­dren, What We’re Doing:
The Dio­cese of Stock­ton has had a pol­icy to address issues of sex­ual abuse of minors since 1987. This pol­icy has under­gone peri­odic revi­sion, most recently in 2009.

Training protocol for clergy, employees and volunteers who provide direct services to or have unsupervised contact with children:
As mandated or ethical reporters of child abuse, all clergy, employees and volunteers, before working unsupervised with children, will be required to complete the following:

Train­ing pro­to­col for chil­dren and youth in the Dio­cese of Stock­ton

All chil­dren and youth attend­ing parochial schools within the Dio­cese of Stock­ton, ages K-8, and high school, and also all chil­dren and youth attend­ing reli­gious edu­ca­tion classes within the Dio­cese of Stock­ton will be required to receive the safety cur­ricu­lum. The cur­ricu­lum used is ti­tled Circle of Grace; it is age-appropriate and includes reli­gious teach­ings.

Reporting Claims to the Dio­cese
 
The Dio­cese of Stock­ton treats all com­plaints of sex­ual abuse seri­ously and deals with such alle­ga­tions in a con­fi­den­tial, prompt, and thor­ough man­ner with com­pas­sion and con­sid­er­a­tion for all those involved. To make a com­plaint of sex­ual abuse against any­one act­ing in the name of the Catholic Church, you may do so in writ­ing or by tele­phone. Whether the abuse was recent or occurred many years in the  past, con­tact:
