STJMOD Pantry and Helpline
Food Pantry
STJMOD Pantry& Helpline is a ministry dedicated to assisting families in dire need to obtain the basic and other material needs to make sure their momentary needs are met. Also, to provide emotional and spiritual support when aiding persons.
Food Pantry
Pantry tasks include stocking and storing food donations, bagging groceries on Monday and Wednesday after the 8:00 A.M. Mass, distributing bags of food on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:00.
Helpline
Helpline tasks include responding to messages left on a dedicated phone line, determining if the caller lives within the parish boundaries and if the help requested qualifies for assistance, for example past due utility payments. The caller is interviewed and an intake form is completed by our steward, that is given with a current bill, to the parish accounting clerk for payment.
Primary Activities:
Distribute food to those in need and respond to those within our parish boundaries who turn to us for help, and offer limited assistance with utilities or other basic needs to those who qualify.
